Sitting on a railway station bench

Many times, I’ve enjoyed my own company. In the recent past, I have been hearing from online influencers about enjoying feeling bored. But today I am not bored and I am enjoying this state of being alone. Maybe because I have full control of my time for a few hours waiting for my train and sitting on a platform bench. For a second, My wife may not like this but I am sure she will understand.

This is what I did/am doing while I wait:

1) (technically not waiting but I had time) I travelled 30 min to get down at the next stop in a 3AC buying general ticket to support my friends who are traveling a lot of luggage. A lot. Ethically wrong. I know I owe Indian Railways. But I am frequent traveler by train. Why not consider me for once?

2) I enjoyed the cool breeze.

3) I bought a pulpy orange and drank it. I wish it was available in a non-plastic container. I owe mother earth.

4) found an empty 3-seater bench on the platform just below a fan, and occupied it completely.

5) Laughed for a standup video/reel and shared with my wife.

6) I felt I should analyse the election manifesto of my favourite IPS turned politician.

7) appreciated the curated work of an insta page on Telugu music and cinema.

8) Felt like writing something. And this happened.

As I finish, there is an announcement for my train. Perfect timing, isn’t it ? And I forgot to tell you my most important/favorite memory of this bench on a railway platform. I always wanted an empty train to stop in front of me. Automatically opens its door. And I hear Dhoni. Dhoni. Sorry sorry, Avinash, Avinash. A calling that will change my life. Incidentally there is a goods train today (freight carrier). Should I think about it ? Cause train is train right.
