It was in December of 2005, when TCS CEO Mr. N Chandrasekaran with his then Latin American Head Gabriel Rozman were chosen for a trip to Galapagos Islands. The islands that has provided a base for Charles Darwin’s Theory of natural selection:Species that adapt to their environment have a better chance of survival. It was a trip of inquest about adapting the situations and the way to carry about which was felt by the former CEO Mr. S Ramadorai for the two chosen people.
They were anyway in Ecuador to look at the possibility of opening an office there.
“After the third day, Chandra came up to me and said ‘I have seen what I wanted. Let’s go back to Ecuador’,” says Rozman.
The results are beginning to show now. TCS is poised to make $1 billion a year in revenue from its Latin American operations.
For Chandra, who succeeded Ramadorai as CEO in October 2009, Darwin isn’t just about a theory. He is busy making TCS adapt to the new demanding world of IT services, where if you don’t adapt, you vanish.
Even we often find difficulties in performing our duties. Many of us make up the minds at each of those obstacles as a Career Impasse situation. When we have a trouble in moving forward, never lean outwards, instead lean towards it and accept the challenge. This is what makes us more skilled. This is what brings in confidence. This is what showcases our capabilities and this is what life is all about.
Lean towards your troubles, have a close look at them to deal with. Excel with some exceptional work.
