Where there’s a will there’s a way !!!
We all know this saying from our school days.Giving it a thought, I asked myself about the times when I have showcased the fight back attitude in my life. Although, I have an answer, I looked at the impact of my answer which frankly is not so satisfying.Being morose, I began contemplating about the impact, will that matter ? The answer is ‘s’ and you can only have this answer at the end, one like this.. Will, that matter’s’ !!!For all cricket lovers, it must be an entertaining and a thought provoking performance by India during the second test of Border-Gavaskar trophy, 2000-01 at Kolkata. And it is India’s endurance and the strongest will that stopped the world record 16 test matches winning streak of Australia and also is the main reason behind that great show.To elaborate where we, as Indians have shown our will in recent times, I should again quote about “the Will” of VVS Laxman with “the wall”, which actually won the match for us after following on. It is will of team then led by Ganguly after this match that had driven the team to win matches overseas, which remained as a black mark for our recent retired test captain, Mr.Cool, MS Dhoni. An another interesting misleading thought of mine is… It is not Laxman who won the match that day, but it is his will to bat more had won it. I can only support it by saying, if he has had the same strong will all the time, he could have bagged more victories for us.But off course, yes it is the will of an individual at times that leaves a strong impact on his/her fellow mates. It inspires others around us. One such act of valor by Captain Vikram Batra during 1999 Kargil War inspired his troops fell upon the enemy with vengeance, annihilated them and captured Point 4875.How many of us know that Air India operates flights at one of the highest commercial airports – Kushok Bakula Rimpochhe Airport, Leh, India at an altitude of 3,256 m (10,682 Ft) above mean sea level. A recent article in TOI refers to challenges in carrying flight operations at Leh Airport. TOI Article on flight operations.Again, this is a strong example of Pilot’s will and excellence in making safe flights.I now started doing actions that build a strong character which withholds my attitude of doing things. Though it takes time, it is worth exhibiting it when needed. After all, each of us should accept that one can run a marathon only when he delivers the passion and showing that character.
For me, it is always – the will, that matters – the most. How will that matter for you ???
